Caban Cae’r Nant is available to children attending Ysgol Cae’r Nant Nursery. Our setting provides high quality day care that enhances the development, care and education of our pre-school children in a safe and stimulating environment, where they learn through play. At Caban Cae’r Nant we recognise the individual needs of each child that attends.
Caban Cae’r Nant is held at Connah’s Quay Community Centre to enable us to support our parent's growing childcare needs. It occupies a large playroom, where we have use of a small kitchen area, staff and children’s toilet facilities and direct access to an outdoor play area. The play space is set out in learning zones, and follows the principles of the Foundation Phase.
Opening hours
- Caban Cae’r Nant provides a breakfast club between 8:00 am and 9.00 pm every day during school term-time for those families that need an earlier childcare facility.
- Caban Cae’r Nant sessions start at 09.00 am at the community centre. After lunch the children are then escorted to their Nursery class at Ysgol Cae’r Nant to begin their school session at 12:30 p.m.
Fees
- Breakfast club fees are charged at the rate of £3.00 per child per breakfast club. This includes a healthy breakfast.
- Caban Cae’r Nant sessions are supported by the 30 hours free childcare offer.

Caban Cae'r Nant is inspected and regulated by Care Inspectorate Wales. Our inspection report can be viewed here. We have been awarded a Food Hygiene rating of 5 (February 2022).
