Dear Grown-Ups,

In our Mantle work, we will be considering a BIG Question next week and would like you to help please!

As part of our 'pupil voice' and how we are working with the New Curriculum for Wales, we will be thinking of some questions that we can explore in more detail. We would very much appreciate it if you could have a chat with your child about their learning so far and think of one or two BIG questions together that your child can share with the class next week.

Here is the BIG question and some types of inquiry question to give you some ideas - maybe choose one or two of the inquiry types that appeal to you and your child the most!

We will be voting for our favourite lines of inquiry next week - happy thinking!!

Our BIG Question!

Hello All!

It has been such a fabulous start to our journey together this year - the children have been very excited about the learning that we have undertaken so far, particularly in our Mantle and Expressive Arts work!

This week we took a deep sea dive to help a local fisherman and the Environment Agency find the cause of strange happenings in the Dee Estuary... We discovered all sorts of interesting creatures and items lurking along the sea bed! We were able to identify the poor condition of the Dee Estuary's waters, because we have been busy researching the Atlantic and what a healthy ocean looks like and were able to compare the two..

We found some potential causes of the changes in the Estuary and wrote reports in the form of a formal letter to the Environment Agency to summarise our findings and make recommendations.

We freeze-framed the Waters of the Dee Estuary so that our team of divers could record the dive.Deep Sea Divers in action!
